Moto G6 Play Android Q update release date and eligibility
- Is Moto G6 Play eligible for Android Q? Nope.
- Motorola promises only one Android OS update for its G6 devices now a days
Motorola isn’t among one of the best OEMs to update their devices anymore. Back in the day when the G series was still in its infancy, Motorola did surprise us with timely updates for its G handsets but it seems those days are fine behind us.
Launched with Android 8.0 Oreo, the G6 Play is not eligible Android Q update. Many G6 Play users, in fact, are yet to receive Android Pie, which is the last eligible update for the S6 Play.
So, even though Android Q packs in some cool features that you will definitely want on your Moto G6, you won’t get an Android Q OTA on G6 Play.
But, there is a chance some good Android Q based custom ROMs will be available, which you can install on your G6 Play (will require TWRP) to get a taste of Android 10 on your G6 Play.

PSA: No monthly security updates
