Huawei took to Weibo to announce the launch date of its upcoming Honor 7X handset in China. Given the astounding success they have had with the 6X, it’s only legitimate that the there are tons of users waiting anxiously for the 7X.

Well, Huawei has revealed that they plan to launch the Honor 7X on October 11 in China. When it comes to other markets, like India where Honor enjoys a fine reputation, remains to be seen.

Honor 7X launch date

In the Weibo message, Huawei is showing a man sitting atop somewhere, gazing at a flying air balloon. What gives? Well, our guess is as good as yours, and we think Huawei is hinting at presence of telescopic lens on the 7X. Given that they were able to squeeze in a dual camera at the back of Honor 6 even last year — a rare in this range — we have to admit Huawei possesses some serious camera abilities, and they could easily give you a OnePlus 5-like, or iPhone 7 Plus-like, camera setup at the back of the 7X.

Many prospective Honor 7X buyers would have hoped for the full-screen display from Huawei with the device, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. The device reported features a regular body, with usual bezels as the Honor 6X and Honor 8, that has a 5.5″ Full HD display at front.

The 7X is said to be powered by Kirin 670 processor, which tops up at cool 2.2GHz clock rate. That is cool for a phone of this range, really, and you can expect the RAM/internal storage to be at 4GB/32GB for the basic model. There should be a 64GB model too, and support for SDcard of upto 256GB.

The camera on 7X could be a 12MP dual sensor setup, while it’s also said to feature 4,000mAh battery.

The Honor 7X would be powered by Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, and an update to Android 8.0 Oreo should be likely, even though a bit delayed — could take Q2 of 2018. Do check out Oreo update release page for all news and expected availability of the Android 8.0 OS for various phones.

The Mate 10 would features a big full-screen display, and quite easily one of the best spec-sheet in business.
