The Google Play Store 4.4.21 which was expected to be released with Android 4.4 KitKat has already started rolling out. The new version brings the slide-out navigation menu like other Google apps (Play Music, Books, etc.) to the Play Store app as well. The new navigation menu contains links to Store Home, My apps, My Wishlist and Redeem and also shows your name and profile picture (from Google+) at the top of the navigation menu. Other than that we aren’t seeing any visual changes.
However, the folks over at AndroidPolice have done an APK teardown of the version 4.4.21 revealing possibility of a new service to be introduced in Play Store, Google Play Newsstand. And that this new service could replace the Google Play Magazines, which does make sense.
Anyway, the new Google Play Store 4.4.21 app is rolling out gradually at this moment. If you’d like to install it yourself, grab the Google Play Store APK version 4.4.21 from the downloads section below and install the app on your device just like any other apk file.

STEP-BY-GUIDE TO INSTALL GOOGLE PLAY STORE 4.4.21
Below is a neat and noob proof guide for installing Google Play APK OR just about any APK.
- Transfer the APK you downloaded to your phone. Both internal and external memory would work.
- In order to install an app using its installation file in .apk format from phone’s sdcard or internal memory, you first need to enable that from settings. Here’s how:
- You will need a file explorer to go to folder where you downloaded APK on phone or transferred it from PC. We would recommend the ES File Explorer File Manager app, however any file manager would do fine. Now, open the file explorer app and go to folder where you downloaded/transferred the Google Play Store APK file. (Btw, if you downloaded it on phone, it should be in Download folder)
- Now, tap on the Google Play Store APK file – play.4.4.21 – to begin installation and you will be done in less than a minute

NOTE
This Google Play APK file will only work on devices which come pre-installed with Google Play Store or has Google Play services enabled. You cannot install it on a device that is not certified for Google Play.
UPDATE:
