Asus was at the CES 2018 to announce the ZenFone Max Plus M1 smartphone for the U.S. market and it didn’t take the company long to release the first software update, which came out on the last day of January 2018.

Despite boasting some of the best features on smartphones today, among them a dual-lens camera and Face Unlock, the ZenFone Max Plus M1 debuted with Android Nougat out of the box. At the MWC 2018, Asus launched the ZenFone Max M1, which, unlike its counterpart, is powered by Oreo out of the box.

Small but important updates

Although we are hopeful that Asus will at some point update the ZenFone Max Plus to Android Oreo just like the ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 4, we still don’t know when exactly this will actually happen. Before then, you may have to get used to updates that are small in nature like the one rolling out right now.

Asus says the update will be rolling out gradually and thus it’ll take some days before all Max Plus M1 handsets get it. While you can wait for the OTA notification to arrive, you can also try to force the update by heading to Settings > System > System updates.
